This delicious hemp pesto can be used as a pasta sauce, dip, spread for pizza (in lieu of marinara sauce) and a host of other creative food inspirations. Perfect on your Eggs Benny, as a dip for your veggies and amazing on your spaghetti squash.
Using hemp seeds instead of pine nuts adds 3 additional grams of protein per 1/4 cup of this basil pesto.
1/4 cup Planet Superfood Hulled Hemp Seeds
2 tbsp Planet Superfood Original Flavored Hemp Seed Oil
2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
3 garlic cloves
2 cups fresh basil
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 tsp sea salt
HOW TO MAKE:
Combine all of the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor and process until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula if necessary.
